You will need to log out of Windows and log back in as the Administrator or a user with Administrator privileges. If you don’t know the Administrator password you may have to speak to someone that set the computer up

How do I remotely administer Integard ?
To remotely administer Integard  over a LAN you connect to port 18881 over the network to the computer you wish to remotely administer.

For example: http://192.168.0.3:18881

This can also be used locally as an alternative to http://127.0.0.2 by using http://127.0.0.1:18881

To remotely access Integard from work over the internet some configuration of your home router may be required.

To make this work you will need to set up port forwarding on your router at home.  You will also need to know what your external IP address is.  If you don't have a static IP address you might be able to set up a Dynamic DNS name instead.

Steps to configure external administration of Integard.

- Port forward port 18881 on your home router to the internal machine at home.
- Determine the IP address or Domain name of your internet connnection at home.

Once it is setup you can then use the URL http://<IP AT HOME>:188881/ at work to access Integard remotely over the internet.

As this connection is not encrypted it would be a good idea to limit connections on this port to your work IP address.

I am trying to add Skype to the Program Limits but I get the error that says it is not a valid filename.
This appears to be a problem with using Firefox as your browser.  As a short-term workaround please use IE (Internet Explorer) to update the Program Limits application list.  An updated version of Integard with this problem fixed will be released very soon.

After installing Integard I cant access my Web mail or my internet banking. How do I fix that ?
The most likely cause is that Integard is blocking secure web pages.

The default Integard settings for children blocks secure web pages.

These are ones that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP.

To enable secure web pages again:

- Go into the Integard Administrator from the icon in the tray
- Login with your Integard Administrator password
- Select User Settings from the menu on the left
- Click on 'Default' or the name of the Integard user account you wish to change
- Find HTTPS Filter and make sure it is un-checked
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the window.

The web pages that were not accessable should now work.

Will Integard slow down my computer ?
Integard is very small and fast using very little CPU or memory.  Web page analysis occurs in milliseconds.

What you might be seeing is a slight delay because Integard does not pass on web page data to the browser until it has received the whole page. This is so that it can do a complete scan of the page before it is displayed.  However once it is scanned the entire page would be transferred to the browser instantly.  This is more noticeable on very large web pages.

What do the different taskbar icon colours mean?
The Integard Tray Icon colours:

Blue, when Integard is active
Red, when Integard is disabled
Yellow when Integard is not running
Red with Yellow center - The Integard installation is damaged and not filtering.

The latest version of Integard shows a light blue icon when it is enabled but the current user has Windows Administrator privileges.  It is best to set up limited Windows accounts for children to minimise the chances that they will accidentally or deliberately damage Windows or Integard.

Why is more than one user enabled at the same time?
A user account must be enabled to allow the user to log in, and user their Integard user settings.

What is Stealth mode?
Stealth mode is a way of having Integard filter the Internet without the pc user knowing. For example, if a web page is blocked by Integard, the page will show a typical “This page cannot be displayed” error message, instead of the usual "Blocked by Integard" message. Stealth mode also removes the Integard icon from the Windows system tray.

What is an “upload”?
An upload is when you are sending data from their pc to the Internet. For example, sending an email, or uploading a file to a site on the internet with FTP.

What is an “SMTP server”?

How do I know if I access the internet via a Proxy server?
